Telomere Therapeutics has been awarded a €2.3 million grant by the Comunidad de Madrid, through the Dirección General de Investigación e Innovación Tecnológica, following the Company’s successful receipt of the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator Seal of Excellence under the Horizon Europe programme.
The funding will support the continued development of AAV-TERT-01, the Company’s investigational gene therapy for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Specifically, the grant will finance key Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) activities and the completion of the IND-enabling preclinical studies required to advance the programme toward its First-in-Human (FiH) clinical trial.
The Comunidad de Madrid funding programme supports high-quality research and innovation projects that have successfully passed the rigorous evaluation process of the EIC Accelerator but require additional funding to accelerate their development.
