Telomere Therapeutics has established its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), bringing together internationally recognized leaders in telomere biology, gene therapy, pulmonary medicine, translational research, and drug development to support the advancement of the Company’s therapeutic pipeline.
The Scientific Advisory Board will provide strategic scientific and clinical guidance as Telomere Therapeutics advances AAV-TERT-01, its lead investigational gene therapy for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), while supporting the expansion of the Company’s broader regenerative medicine platform. The inaugural Scientific Advisory Board includes:
- Dr. María A. Blasco (Chair) – Director of the Telomeres and Telomerase Group at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). A world-leading authority in telomere biology, aging, and telomerase research, providing strategic leadership on the scientific foundations of the Company’s platform.
- Dr. Kathleen Collins – Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, internationally recognized for her pioneering work on telomerase structure, function, and RNA biology, contributing deep expertise in the molecular mechanisms underlying telomere maintenance.
- Dr. María Molina – Head of the Pneumology Research Group and Scientific Director of IDIBELL, and a leading clinician in interstitial lung diseases. She brings extensive expertise in IPF, clinical research, patient management, and translational development.
- Dr. Maria P. Limberis – Gene therapy scientist with extensive experience in viral vector development and translational research, providing expertise in preclinical development and the advancement of gene therapy programs toward the clinic.
- Dr. Morten Søgaard – Senior Vice President at Astellas Innovation Lab, bringing broad experience in biotechnology innovation, drug development strategy, and the translation of emerging technologies into clinical programs.
- Dr. Toby Maher – Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Southern California and internationally recognized expert in interstitial lung disease. He contributes extensive experience in IPF clinical trials, therapeutic development, and global clinical strategy.
Together, the Scientific Advisory Board provides complementary expertise spanning telomere biology, gene therapy, pulmonary medicine, translational science, and clinical development, supporting the continued advancement of Telomere Therapeutics’ pipeline.
